The Maldives is what I envision when I think of paradise.  Clear turquoise blue waters, sandy beaches and luxury as far as the eye can see, are just a few of the reasons this island paradise is high on my bucket list.  There are so many big name resorts to choose from scattered across the multitude of islands that make up the Maldives, that it’s hard to narrow down just one amazing place to stay for the trip I’m planning to take later this year.  I started with the idea that I didn’t want big, at least not in terms of size.  I’m already out in the middle of the Indian Ocean, no need to completely disappear. However, I didn’t want to give up any of the luxury, that’s when the sky opened up, the sun shined down and I was shown the answer: Maalifushi by COMO.

Maalifushi by COMO was the first to open in the remote Thaa Atoll, and although the journey to get there can be a long one, the island’s untouched feel makes it worth every second.  The sister resort to Cocoa Island, Maalifushi follows the COMO trademark style of eco-friendly, understated luxury that is reminiscent of Soneva resorts.  The sixty-six villas offer seclusion and luxury with a laid-back feel full of peace and tranquility.  When you’re not tanning on the beach or getting your romance on, guests can enjoy restorative yoga, spa treatments, beach-front exercise, healthy dining options and more.
