From the moment you step off the plane the sights and sounds of New Orleans captures you. The live jazz music, eccentric locals and delicious food are all part of the city’s charm. However for me, it’s New Orleans’ hotels that take center stage. The hotels are some of my favorites in the city because they are unique, luxe, Instagram worthy, and most importantly, full of that timeless NOLA charm. If you’re ever in town, make sure you stop by these New Orleans hotspots and have the time of your life!
Everyone knows NOLA is famous for its architecture, and the refurbished Beaux-Arts Maison Blanch and Art Nouveau Kress buildings now known as the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans is the perfect place to wrap yourself in some of the city’s most classic designs. My favorite spot in the hotel is the lush courtyard that’s perfect for a quick nosh with friends, and maybe an epic photoshoot.
Out of all the newer hotels in the city, I think the Le Méridien captures modern day New Orleans best. Pops of color, creative design, and unique art converge in the lobby (aka The Hub) of the Le Méridien showcasing the vibrant and eclectic vibe of the city. I also live for the rooftop pool which provides guests with a tranquil space for unwinding after a long day of exploring the city.
The International House may not be as big in name as the Ritz, but it’s big on class and style. Each of the 117 rooms, suites and penthouses is designed to uplift the human spirit. Spacious bathrooms, architectural artifacts, complimentary wi-fi, Aveda bath amenities, as well as furnishings, linens and color palettes selected by designer LM Pagano, create sexy, sophisticated, soothing spaces for sleep, work and play.
When Beyoncé released ‘Lemonade,’ the first hotel I thought of in New Orleans was the Bienville House. This traditional style NOLA hotel will have you feeling more like you’re in a centuries-old French manor fit for a queen, instead of the hustle and bustle of the big city, and their hidden pool oasis is perfect for living out all your Beyoncé style fantasies.
